Working alongside our Head of Product and Senior Leaders in the business, the Lead Product Manager will play a critical role in the development and continued improvement of our Help to Buy service, which offers a unique product management challenge.
While the scheme is closed to new applicants, Homes England continues to support customers throughout the lifecycle of their equity loan. The service operates at the intersection of digital delivery, customer experience, operations, public policy and transformation.
This role provides an opportunity to influence the future of a nationally significant government service, working alongside experienced digital, operational and product professionals to improve services for customers and deliver meaningful organisational outcomes.
You will be joining a growing team of friendly, talented & highly skilled people, who are committed to making positive change across the agency transforming Homes England into a modern, high-performing digital and data-enabled organisation. As a Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for line managing Product Managers and Associate Product Managers, supporting and coaching them to build their capabilities.
Working with the other Product Managers you will contribute to an organisation-wide product strategy for Homes England and ensure the strategy for your service and products form part of a holistic approach to building and maintaining products to meet the overall needs of Homes England.
You will have experience of working in large and complex digital customer-facing services and the ability to coach and lead teams in agile and lean practices, and will have a continuous improvement approach to you and your own team’s performance.
You will have developed expertise to be able to define and create approaches and to implement new ways of working. This allows you to identify and compare processes or delivery methods to use, to help the team to come to the best approach evaluating this through the life of a product.
You will maintain a culture of lessons learned and look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and to make improvements to services for our users, balancing customer needs, operational requirements and business priorities when making decisions
You will have an interest in and understanding of new and emerging digital technologies and the opportunities they provide to improve the delivery of public services in the UK, and have an awareness of Government Digital standards and how these enable us to build better services.
You will be able to work closely with the operational delivery teams in digital, data and technology to ensure operations are efficient.
You will be able to establish the nature of the problem that needs to be addressed and how this fits within the wider strategic context for Homes England in order to maximise the effectiveness of solutions.
You will have a proven ability to a develop a long-term vision and objectives for products and services using customer insight, research and service performance data to inform product direction, being discerning and disciplined in focusing on what is important and most relevant.
