Help build the National Housing Bank

The National Housing Bank (NHB) is a new government-backed financial institution, operating as a subsidiary of Homes England, established to unlock investment and accelerate housing delivery across England.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small team working on lending alliance origination, in a national organisation with real social purpose.

You will play a critical role in creating lending alliances to increase our reach and ensure that there are a range of financial products available to SME developers.

You will help us to build and manage the team’s pipeline, structuring new transactions, taking proposals through our approval process, undertaking due diligence, negotiating and contracting new alliances.

There are a wide range of exciting and ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to help Homes England deliver its mission whilst bringing innovative solutions to the team’s work.

About You

You will be experienced in debt structuring and real estate lending. You will be able to work creatively and to constructively challenge partners, colleagues and stakeholders.  You will also be able to critically analyse proposals, financial models and legal documents, identifying key commercial and policy considerations. You will be an experienced negotiator who is comfortable taking opportunities through approval processes and presenting arguments in a clear and reasoned manner.

You will be used to managing competing priorities, have excellent organisational skills and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable in managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way, and in collaborating to achieve our team’s ambitious goals.

Why Join?

Backed by £16bn of new financial capacity, the National Housing Bank will work with investors, lenders, developers, housing associations and government partners to crowd in more than £50bn of private investment and support the delivery of 500,000 additional homes across England.

This is a rare opportunity to work collaboratively across teams within the National Housing Bank.

Please find attached job description alongside additional information about the selection process, who we are and what we offer.
