Help build the National Housing Bank

 

The National Housing Bank (NHB) is a new government-backed financial institution, operating as a subsidiary of Homes England, established to unlock investment and accelerate housing delivery across England.

We're looking for a Director, Fund Management & Portfolio Strategy to join the NHB Senior Leadership Team and help shape one of the UK's most significant housing finance platforms.

Salary: c. £140,000–£150,000 plus benefits, depending on skills and experience.

Reporting to: Chief Investment Officer

You'll lead oversight of the NHB's full investment portfolio, spanning debt, equity, guarantees and future investment products, helping direct more than £22bn of capital and commitments towards the areas of greatest strategic impact. 

Working closely with the CIO, CEO and wider Executive team, you'll shape investment strategy, portfolio priorities and capital allocation decisions that support housing delivery, regeneration and economic growth across England.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced investment, fund management or portfolio professional with a strong track record overseeing complex investment portfolios, balance sheets or multi-asset investment programmes. You'll bring excellent strategic judgement, strong financial stewardship and the ability to translate market insight into investment priorities.

Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to help build a new public financial institution and shape how billions of pounds of investment are deployed to deliver lasting impact.
