Senior Manager - Technical Accounting

Closing Date: 31/3/2026

Interviews will take place week commencing 6/4/2026 and 13/4/2026

A bit about the role...

Working within the Technical Accounting team, as Senior Manager in the technical accounting team you will provide technical advice and support primarily in relation to the agency’s complex transactions, in particular land and development transactions but also across all Agency programmes and initiatives to ensure projects are accounted for correctly, preparing and reviewing reports and accounting papers to be utilised by staff with varying levels of accountancy knowledge.

There will be significant responsibility to ensure the annual accounts, with a Balance Sheet in excess of £20bn, are prepared on time, to standard, are free from material misstatements and are given a clean audit opinion.

You will be joining an enthusiastic, motivated team who have a range of skills to help our delivery colleagues realise the Agency's housing and regeneration ambitions.

This is a exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver programmes in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key senior stakeholders and a professional across Finance you will act as a trusted advisor with responsibility to both challenge proposals and provide consistent and robust financial advice.

A bit about you…

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders across the Agency, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate. You'll be comfortable supporting the Head - Financial Reporting & Accounting with complex accounting and budgeting issues and to be a key Finance contact for technical queries from staff across the Agency.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, challenging senior stakeholders in a constructive way, raising complex issues and working with your wider Finance colleagues on resolution. Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as Finance team.

As an experienced finance professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

This role requires the post holder to have a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA  and be a member of professional accountancy body.

How? We form long-term partnerships that bridge the gap between the public and private sector to meet local needs and aspirations. We use our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed for the people that live there now, and in the future. And we use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting the utmost attention to building safety.

Together with our partners, we’re accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country, as we seek to deliver ever more affordable homes in places people are proud to call home for generations to come.
