Working in a team with the Assistant Director – Finance Operations, the Head of Finance Systems and Change will play a critical role in shaping and delivering our strategic priorities, ensuring our systems, processes and change initiatives fully support long‑term organisational objectives. You will be joining our highly skilled and collaborative finance community, who are committed to driving innovation, strong governance, and continuous improvement across our finance landscape.
The Assistant Director is dedicated to delivering a high‑quality customer experience, ensuring effective alignment between operational delivery and change activity, and encouraging innovative solutions that improve how our systems and processes operate. They believe in collaborative working, value diverse perspectives and foster strong decision‑making and problem‑solving across the team.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of the team and the wider Finance Directorate within a fast‑growing, national organisation with a clear social purpose. Working closely with key stakeholders and a professional Finance Directorate, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective delivery of finance systems, support major improvement initiatives, and influence the design and implementation of change programmes across the Homes England Group. You will also have the opportunity to help create innovative, data‑driven ways of working that enhance our finance ecosystem.
The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects, including system upgrades, integrations, automation initiatives and process optimisation. There are ambitious, transformative projects to get involved in, and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day‑to‑day delivery responsibilities while introducing creative, forward‑looking improvements to the Finance Operations and Systems team offering.
You'll be comfortable supporting the organisation with complex finance systems and change issues, aiming to drive efficiency, strengthen controls and ensure our systems are fit for purpose. You will be proficient in finance systems management, process improvement methodologies, data analytics (including Power BI) and delivering change within a complex environment.

You will be resilient and confident in managing internal and external stakeholders, with discussions shaped by a strong understanding of the operational impact of what we do within the Finance Directorate.
