Working in a team of nine led by Ian Knight, our Head of Disposals, as a Senior Development Manager you will have lead responsibility for a portfolio of development and regeneration projects. You will play a critical role in preparing and releasing residential and mixed-use development sites onto the open market to select development partners and secure best value.
You will be joining our dedicated team of development and regeneration professionals, who are committed to making positive change in how Homes England brings forward land for development. Whilst our day job is to deliver new homes on the land that Homes England owns and controls, you will be used to managing a dynamic portfolio of projects and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.
You will have experience of managing development and regeneration projects, including an understanding of good design, town planning and infrastructure delivery. The role will focus on bringing our sites forward via open competitive disposal processes to select development partners who are themselves committed to high quality design and pro-active approaches to good placemaking. You will be expected to be able to adopt good commercial knowledge in the appraisal of financial submissions and the ability to deal with complex legal agreements.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As a Development professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative and inclusive way.
Ideally, you will be educated to Degree level and we favour professional qualification of an appropriate professional body. For this role we will consider candidates who are in the process of seeking professional qualification and have an excellent track record of providing the necessary mentoring and support.
