Senior Manager - AH Delivery

This role will close on the 11th December 2025. We encourage if you wish to apply to do so at your earliest opportunity.

Interviews to be held via Teams w/c 15th December 2025.

A bit about the role...

Working in the Affordable Housing Grant directorate, and closely with the Head of Strategic Partners, the Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in the delivery of affordable housing grant funding programmes.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of Strategic Partners delivering new affordable homes through the Strategic Partnership funding route across England, working collaboratively with them to support delivery of their affordable housing development pipelines.

You will be joining a friendly, high performing and experienced team, dedicated to partnership working to secure delivery of affordable housing across England. The team is committed to a pragmatic, creative and solutions focused approach.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of affordable housing delivery in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional affordable housing team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of delivery challenges and will identify opportunities to increase affordable housing supply.

You will also support wider team operational activities, working closely with other teams within Affordable Housing Grants and across Homes England. There are some exciting cross cutting projects to get involved in and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day today delivery while implementing innovative solutions to unlock affordable housing supply.

A bit about you…

Our day job is to ensure excellent stewardship of our grant funded programmes, making sure delivery is compliant with funding conditions and supported by robust performance reporting and risk management. To do that, you’ll need to be used to spinning several plates, responding quickly where challenges arise and shape solutions.

The Head of Strategic Partners believes in working in a collaborative way and values diverse thinking to foster better decision making. You will be an enthusiastic and proactive individual, able to work across teams and with external partners to build strong relationships and deliver at pace. A curious mindset and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation are essential.

Ideally, you will have experience of affordable housing delivery as part of a development team in a Registered Provider, developer or local authority setting. You will have a good understanding of the development process from land acquisition through to planning approval, construction and scheme completion. You will also have experience of delivering or managing grant funded affordable housing projects and/or programmes and will be confident in contract and performance management. You will be comfortable supporting the Head of Strategic Partners with complex affordable housing issues to maximise affordable housing supply.

This role is a great opportunity if you are looking to gain a national level and strategic perspective of affordable housing delivery, drawing on your own experience to identify new investment opportunities and new ways of unlocking affordable housing delivery.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, grounding your discussions in a clear understanding of both commercial and operational impacts. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging team environment and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an affordable housing professional, you’ll understand how to bring people with you and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

As part of the job role there is an expectation that some travel may be needed to attend internal meetings and external meetings with partners.
